Reviews

Burikusu!!! - 2080
There is no doubt about it, while I have a soft spot for this album, there is going be a hell of a lot of people out there who completely abhor this release full stop. For now however, this is fresh and new, fun and exciting. If you want cheering up, this is a sure-fire ray of sunshine.

Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words - Lost in Reflections
"Lost in Reflections" is not all void and darkness, shrouded apparitions and pervasive melancholy. Full of warmer tones, richer hues and softer timbres, we can accept that ensconced somewhere among the meticulous layering is a mind at odds with its environs, and by no choice of its own.

Stahlschlag - Acoustiphobie
Listening to Stahlschlag for any length of time may result in palpitations (dancing while playing the disc is by far the recommended course of action), "Acoustiphobie" is a perfect addition to a hard EBM set, or a softer option for an introduction to an industrial one; either way, the target audience for this album is definitely club-based.

Babylone Chaos - Les Machines Ecarlates
Pure noise fans may not like the more mainstream feel of Babylone Chaos, but it should find a strong fan base amongst those who appreciate later industrial and rhythmic noise. Deceptively light at first, but soon verging on the hypnotic, this CD ends up being surprisingly satisfying.

Broken Fabiola - Severed
To give a summary: for those, for expediency's sake, who would prefer reading a preface - Broken Fabiola's "Severed" is an affectively stimulating album. Though if you listen to it while paying too close attention to its various parts, something just seems lacking.

Tracy Lee Summers - My Favourite Color
If you're looking for the ultimate in gentle, happy background music that's guaranteed not to offend even the most sensitive (or desensitised) ears, then the marvelously vanilla, technically brilliant Tracy Lee Summers is your girl, and "My Favourite Color" belongs on your birthday list.

SynchDub - Twilight Last Glance
A lot to learn with regards to overall flow and ironing out the sound for this project. There may be something special on the horizon for what appears to be a neat and solid act that I am sure we will hear of in the future if they play their cards right.

System:FX - High Definition Violence
Listening to System:FX is an entirely frustrating process. This is largely due to the vast potential discernible in their work (especially on the opening track, "Virus") that, due to shoddy production, does not translate well into their final product.
